“There is nothing impossible to him who will try” is one of the many quotes from Alexander the Great and one that he proved over and over again even though he lived only 33 years. Part of Alexander’s greatness was genetic. His father was King Philip of Macedonia, who turned Macedonia into a military power and conquered Greece. From his father, Alexander learned to appreciate Greek culture and to be a military expect. His teacher was one of history’s greatest philosophers, Aristotle. This combination gave Alexander all the skills he needed to become one of the great conquerors in history.
One of the effects of Alexander’s conquering was the exchange of culture, clothing and customs when Alexander and his conquering armies past through parts of the world and Greeks stayed behind in places. An example of this is when Alexander moved his armies through South Central Asia, he adopted Persian clothing. Additional the Greek influence grew so much that an entire period of time was name d the Hellenistic Age, or the Greek-like Age.
